Automotive partners Tom Shrubb and Phil Bower have kept the
Alfa Romeo flag flying in Lincolnshire since 1983,
prior to that from the mid seventies they worked for F.K.Sharpe Ltd,
one of the countries oldest Alfa Romeo dealers. With hands on marque
experience including the first Alfasuds, early Alfetta Saloons
and GTV’s, GTV 6’s, 164’s up to current 147, 156
and 166 models they can offer their customers experience
and knowledge unavailable in the current dealer network. While
at Sharpe’s they put their previous competition backgrounds
to good use seeing the potential in the then new Alfasud. The Sharpe’s
built Sud driven by Charles Hill was soon achieving giant killing
results in rallies throughout the Midlands.
Their enthusiasm saw
the car converted and entered in one of the first AROC scratch races,
since that 1983 debut BLS have successfully competed in the championship
every year to date, a full breakdown of results and gallery photos
of cars built and prepared are available by selecting the relevant
option on the side bar.
The Lincoln workshop
is handily situated within walking distance of the historic city
of Lincoln with all it’s major stores and uphill area including
the castle and world famous Cathedral, is fully equipped with the
latest A.R. Examiner diagnostic equipment and state of the art MOT
test bay.
Inevitably during their
24 years of trading many existing Alfa Romeo customers and indeed
others that have been recommended or seen the BLS cars in action
on the track have brought not only Alfa Romeo’s but other
marques to Lincoln for attention. A portfolio of some of the makes
and models that BLS have worked on is detailed in our ‘cars
worked on’ link.
Whether customers are
bringing a classic 105 series or a model from the current range
they are guaranteed an enthusiastic welcome, personal attention
and good old fashioned customer service.
